It’s with mixed emotions that we share the news that Deborah Chick, Secretary and Strategic Develop/ Programs Manager, will be stepping down from her role as of the 11th February 2026.

Scott Barber, WAHA CEO, says:

“It’s with both gratitude and a touch of sadness that we farewell Deb, after seven years of exceptional service to WAHA and our industry. Deb’s influence has been deeply felt by the Association. Her dedication, drive, and unwavering commitment has not only help put WAHA firmly on the map but has seen us punching well above our weight in influence, visibility, and impact.”

Deb has made significant contributions to WAHA during her time with us, and we are grateful for her experience, ability to rise to a challenge and to extend her already extensive skillsets, and dedication to advancing WAHA, our mission, and the industry across the region.

“She has championed our members, best practice, and helped advance the professionalism of our sector”, says Scott Barber.

During her time with WAHA, Deb has been more than just the Association Secretary, she has been a driving force in our growth, a passionate advocate for positive change in our industry, and a genuine voice for best practice.

The WAHA Board are working through the transition process to embed Deb’s replacement and to set WAHA up for our next period of growth.

We want to thank Deb for her service and wish her all the very best in her next chapter with gratitude for her influential legacy.
